EKKOV was created as an alternative to mass production. I've always loved vintage, upcycling, and bringing old things to life. This is where my way of thinking about creation and design comes from.
Personally, in my day-to-day life, I look for things that are exceptional, unique, used and produced in an ethical manner. I visit flea markets and second hand shops. I believe that good quality old items increase in value with age and that used clothes can be turned into something beautiful. EKKOV products are born from a combination of a passion for timeless beauty, good quality and the desire to exert a positive influence on our environment.
Thus was born the idea of sewing upcycled bags and backpacks - from ends and scraps of fabrics and leathers.
Upcycling is a way to reduce the consumption of energy, raw materials, the carbon footprint associated with transport and everything that is needed to produce raw materials. Through upcycling, I want to contribute to the circular economy and sustainable development processes.
I am convinced that making responsible choices also applies to production, purchasing and cooperating with people and this is the path to a fulfilling life.
I believe people influence each other. What we do and how, our material, production and design choices also influence everything around us.
Sustainability translates into everything - packaging, fair payments, sorting and recycling of our waste, the well-being of everyone we work with and local production.
Ekkov is a workshop that I founded in Poznań and a cooperation with our local fashion friends.
We consciously create new standards in accordance with our values.
In the EKKOV store you will find upcycled bags and backpacks, but also handmade knits in wool, alpaca and merino. Each product is handmade and therefore each is different and unique.
It is important for us to give ourselves time. Our production takes time to make what we do beautiful and valuable.
We are constantly developing and working on improvements at all levels.
Producing from upcycling is our conscious choice and a way to use high quality materials that can no longer be intended for their original use. The fine and scraps of textiles and leathers are perfect for creating new products. In this way, the raw materials can be used in their entirety. Thanks to this, a short and unique series of bags and backpacks are created.
I want to share my passion with you - products made in agreement with ourselves and with respect for nature.
Welcome
Joanna
